I have an ASUS A7N8X (old version 1.3). I run at 200FSB (which it isn't made for), but it works fine. Processor is a xp 1700+ Throughbred B. I run at 10x200 easily, and when I run at 10.5x200, it's 100% stable, except for one odd thing. After the computer is completely turned off (whether it was just turned off, or was off for a day), and I turn it back on, the drives/fans spin up, but the mobo doesn't beep, and nothing happens. Only way to get it to work is to hold the power button in for 5 seconds till it turns off, and then instantly hit again, it boots up, make me hit delete to enter BIOS, I then hit (esc, enter, enter) (bring me to last window, exit saving changes, and then confirm). And whazam! Everything works again, 100% stable. Any sugestions? Did I forget to mention anything? I think it MIGHT be some kind of built in heat protection thing, but it even happens when it has been off for a long time.

Whats your Vcore.
One posibility is you power supply is dropping the voltage to the core when the system cold boots.
That means your mobo wont pickup your cpu on a cold boot but will from a reboot.
If you have a little room then try upping your Vcore a step.

Luck.......... :D

It's set at 1.85, but the BIOS and all the programs read it at 1.9.

Power supply too weak, bad capacitors on the mobo (unlikely), dying CMOS battery.... I'd put my money on the PSU.

Antec True330w. Not much running on it really. Two older HDDs and a CD-RW.

I have these same problems... It couldn't be the power supply, because it did it on my old 250watt, and it still does it on the new 400watt I bought to try and solve this problem.

I also replaced the CMOS battery, so it couldn't be that.

I don't have the same board as you do though, it's an Epox 8RDA3+, but it's the same problems you are having. Weird, huh?

I pretty much got the same problem with my computer.

ive tried high cpu volts, low cpu volts, high mem and low mem volts, default everything, PCI ata 133 card (cause i thought it might be the controller on the mobo), diff power supply.

havnt tried diff video card or memory though

i dunno if this will help, but MeTaSpArK or whatever posted on how to get your mobo to boot (even cold boot) at a certain voltage....sometimes it goes through POST and THEN changes the vcore...i'm going to go find the link, its a pin mod...

not sure if it'll help: http://hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=828056
