WEI crasing - windows media decoding

Ok WEI wont run.

I first noticed WMP was crashing on some types of video, googled that issue and people report problem resolved by downgrading nvidia to 270.x drivers or older, I cannot do that however since I have a 760 GTX.

Second issue which I think is caused by same thing is WEI assessment wont complete, it bombs out on the windows media decoding test.

I had used the display driver uninstaller previously to wipe my 460GTX drivers, and my guess is thats deleted something inciorrectly.
 
Does vlc play those same files?

(It should, but it rules out a few other more severe things)
 
yeah VLC is fine.

I found the cause, I noticed when I closed IE (had about 30 tabs open in 4 IE windows) it started workimg, it was a desktop heap saturation issue and IE uses desktop heap like crazy.
