Hello Everyone,

I guess this would be close to my first post if not the first, but I saw the front page where it told me to go mod something and I have been wanting to build a laptop into a shadow box or whatever they are called. So Friday I got to work on finding the box which I got at a Hobby Lobby for 50% off. I started with an old HP Laptop that the power input on the laptop was broken so once I got it out of the case, I fixed that and put in a new one. Took me until this morning to get everything right, some of it could be considered ghetto, but it works and no one but me will every have to look at the insides. It is far from perfect but I know what to fix the next time around. So on with the few pictures I took.

Comments, Ideas and Criticism are welcome as I will be doing this again.

Darker mat. Maybe some sort of see through art so that when the monitor is off, it looks like a piece of art hanging instead of a black square.

Obviously hide the wires.

X2 on the darker mat.

just throw up a photo slide show screen saver when your not using it. that way people will just think its a digital photo frame. then BAM its a computer.

Hello,

Thanks for the comments, the color for the back is a light blue that matches my daughters room. Eventually it will be moved in there and I can take out the network cable and use the wireless. I definitely made some mistakes in getting the cables to come out of it. Next time I am going to move things up so I can hide the cables out the back.
