I'm looking to buy a new monitor..

It will be used for gaming and also web/graphic design work (photoshop, illustrator, dreamweaver).

I want something big but not insanely huge. Don't really have a budget to go beyond $700.

I would like a 24" or above.

I just don't know what to get that is good. I have a Dell ST2410 but pixels are going out.

I'm no expert so take my advice with gobbles of salt but I would start looking at the U2410.

I just reviewd that mononitor here:

The PX2370 is a good monitor, but is very overpriced and there are better TN panels that can be found for up to 100$ less.

If you read my thread you will find I talk about the HDMI image quality not being up to par for console use, what I experienced is not uncommon for Samsung monitors, check out PRAD.DE's detailed review of the 2494 where they eperience the same thing I did with the PX2370 with console use:

If you want a TN panel with accurate color presets superior to the Samsung PX2370 check out the Acer G245h (240$) which I also tested:

I'm leaning closer to this one: NEC EA231WMI-BK

Very good choice for an IPS panel. NEC has top notch electronics and menus backing their monitors. I would choose this ahead of the Dell 23", unless the dell is much cheaper.

if you want to spend 1000$ get the Dell U2711. The U2410 is an overprice peice of garbage with the U2311 out.

That is nonsense. The U2711 is over $400 more and is barely any bigger than the U2410. If anything is overpriced it is the U2711.

ACallander, you say you need something bigger than your current 24'er and then you opt for a 23'er...
if you will primarily use it for work, web & graphic design 24' or 27' is much preferable for productivity. The 200 vertical pixels make a difference.
Then, you mention a budget near $1K and end at the $350 range...

In your case there are quite some options depending on your preferences.
a single Dell 2711 (WCG, small dot pitch, large desktop)
or a dual NEC EA231, (SRGB, deep blacks)
a single or dual HPZR24W (SRGB, cheap IPS )
.. or a 2490 v1 still found at amazon. (SRGB, antiglare polarizer, pro class monitor)
