Trying to find a solution for a coworker at work that wants a web camera hooked up to there PC and is viewable over the internet, like she could connect via from work and view if anyone is at her computer or whatever.
She mentioned something about maybe having it record when movement and things like that. I'm thinking she just has DSL directly connected to her PC and I'm guessing she'll just need DDNS. I've just never personaly installed a basic webcam because I've never had a use for it, do they all have the features to view via webpage to access it? any suggestions?

I would suggest a Wireless or wired Home Monitoring Network Cam. I purchased a panasonic though it is expensive it is the same idea. You connect it to your home network(she would need a cheap router) and then you can access it over the net or locally over your LAN. Mine has motion sensor, a mic, and pan swivel functions. These are all controllable in the setup proccess. This is more practical than messing with a web cam because this comes with a free site to host your live feed at.

awesome that's definitely pointing me to the right direction. I might have to find a cheaper solution but looking at the BL-C20A panasonic looks nice. So I'm assuming you can add more cameras as well?

Yes You can have multiple cams on one network. Mine allows you to view them all at once on one screen like a security system and then choose the one you want. I am pretty sure Linksys and others make cheaper alternatives, though I love the panasonic!
