• Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.

Search wasn't helpful, so I guess I'll ask here.

Also, first of all, I understand that using web-based email is disabled for registration (and can see why).

However, once registered, are we permitted to change our email address to, for example gmail? Or must we keep using the email that our ISP gives us?

You can change your email address to anything that isn't filtered here. It must, however, be a valid addy, as you will have to confirm via an email that will be sent to it. When you change your email, you are kicked back into the "awaiting confirmation" category and cannot post until you have confirmed. If you try to change your addy to something that is filtered, you will get a message that it is not allowed.

And, no, you can't use gmail. The setting that blocks gmail is universal and cannot be changed on a case-by-case basis.

Ah, I see. Oh well.

Thanks for answering, however!

AVT, I configured my Gmail to download mail from the POP3 account that my ISP gave me, in order to get my [H] thread notices in my Gmail.

Hope this helps!
