Weak Pixels?

I just got a Acer 22" and its got some places on it that look like weak pixels. Not dead or stuck just weak like they ain't as bright as the rest. They can only be seen on a bright colored background and aren't noticeable at all during games even when you try to find them. They ain't even that noticeable out of the corner of your eye with a solid white screen.

I always thought pixels are either completely dead or stuck.

I'm just little worried they might die out completely if thats possible. Because they would be very noticeable if they do. Is it likely they won't get worse? Figured maybe someone has had similar issues with their monitor.
 
doesn't look like a pixel to me.
I'm taking a guess but try pressing against the screen, you'll probably see the same thing. the dark spots could be caused by bumping the screen damaging the matrix or slightly uneven glass pressing onto the darkened pixels..
 
I saw something very similar to that on the Samsung 225BW that I'm returning. Wasn't a single dead pixel as the monitor had two of those so I knew what they should look like. Looks like a fussy pixel most visible on white screen a lot like your second image. Wasn't dust unless it was underneath the screen. Maybe it's defects on the cheap TN screens sued by some 22 inch LCDs.

If it really bothers you, and it did bother me more than the dead pixels I didn't notice 95% of the time; try to get an exchange from Acer or where you bought it.
 
There most definitely is something between a stuck and a dead pixel.

1) The pixel allows some more light to pass than its neighbouring pixels on a black screen. This differs from a truly stuck pixel as it is not full brightness. Normally this problem is only visible on a black screen or a dark shade of grey. At lighter shades, the pixel behaves normally.

2) The pixel shows black correctly, but at any other brightness is dimmer than its neighbours and is unable to show full brightness.

It seems Samsung/Sony panels most commonly exhibit this but I don't know why. I guess the issue relates to the individual transistors or ability for the pixel to rotate correctly from full off to on.

I dont believe this relates to pressure from the next layer of the screen pressing too hard, as this would result in several neighbouring pixels being affected.
