I was anticipating Nukem, but now I don't have a care in the world for it. They keep updating their textures and graphics as the years go on to keep up but what about innovation and gameplay? :confused:

xbox live arcade is pretty popular ... lot's of really old titles there that are still a blast

Starcraft, this is still a SUPER popular game in the asian countries and is still a great game to pick up even now as there are still people on B.Net and probalby will always be people. Same goes with Diablo 2 and probalby Warcraft III

I am proud to admit that the last ON-LINE game I played was Chess... I'd have to read up on history to be sure exactly how old people believe this game is, but I believe it's a few years older than Tetris...

Some have landed... But some have crashed and burned...

Even the one that landed was riddled with bugs that had to be overcome with some clever programming solutions so that the probe didn't become essentially useless...

I only mention this as I anticipate that DNF will also result in the same story...

What, crash and burn, or have its problems solved by a patch that will be 5 years in the making?

I'll buy it though, just to see what we waited all this time for.
 
Everyone will play (not buy, but play) DNF, if only to scream DAIKATANA LULZ! in screenshots.
 
Well,Scott did come across as honest in this latest interview.I like that comment about his two sons 'ribbing' him about it "never coming out".... :D

I will buy it when it comes out as I think many others will.10+ years in dev or not,if it ships and is bug free,and tons of fun,and has good to great graphics,as well as decent A.I. it will sell well,if not very well ! Hell !! Its Duke Nukem !!! I cant wait to shrink Pig Cops and stomp em !!! :cool:
 
They're going to drag it out until the current gamer generation is no longer gaming, then just fade away slowly :D
 
I'd like to think that the male population who loved duke nukem so much back when 3d was released has grown up, and that a chauvinist movie dialog rip off artist with a bad haircut and ego as big or bigger then Mr. George at 3d realms and has no real place in games anymore.

Duke has come and gone and served a purpose. What purpose, I don't know. I always found Blood to be a more captivating and fun game than Duke. It will come out and people will play it for a while. But, I doubt it will have any staying factor in the industry and will probably fade away in short amount of time, due to lack of maturity and too much waiting for such a "stellar" title.

Call me cynical if you want, but they have held onto this title like it's the holy grail while everyone else has been capable of putting good games out into the market (and keeping the market going and full of life. Just imagine if every developer did what 3d realms is doing, gaming would be a joke). They keep clinging onto new trends and pulling at new straws and strings to keep up with the times. Even though it has been proven by us gamers that we look for innovation and gameplay over trends and gimmicks. Even though games like Fallout and Planescape, Counterstrike 1.6, and Starcraft etc are old and have dated graphics they are still being played. And why the only reason for popping in the Duke 3d Atomic edition is only for shits and giggles. And I think the Nintendo Wii has proven my point here.

Anyways that is my rant. I think it's a joke and it grinds my gears that people are still following this game so closely. It's the biggest joke in the industry and the only reason the project is still going is because the man set up to take the fall doesn't want to be called a failure and is funding most of the project himself. Even the people financing the project have disappeared, I think it's time that dukey did too.

Naaa DNF is all in good fun. As a matter of fact watching HOT FUZZ made me think of it. Lol check that movie out if you need to see what I mean.

The best map's I've played recently are a series of Duke Nukem remakes for Fear: Combat. They include the voice from the game and real porn in the theater and viewing booths. This sort of over exaggerated chauvinistic character never grows old. Games are meant to be fun - if you take this so seriously, perhaps it's time to step back from the hobby. ;)

Yep, I only buy used games. Infact I just picked up Ninja Gaiden (non-black, unfortunately) for $10 NZD.

am i the only one who finds it funny that duke nukem forever = DNF, which also = "did not finish"??? i really hope not.
 
Wow! People are still talking about this game. They need to change it from DNF, to DNR.

The orig is way over hyped to begin with, just wasn't that good. Now post pubescent nostalgia has created shoes that cant be filled. Good riddance
 
Only thing I'm worried about is when it gets released...
