I recently bought an WD20EARS-00MVWB0 while there was a rebate. After putting it in my windows home server it would not pick it up so I formatted it in my main computer.
Before I formatted it I got worried and began to look up in forums and google and came across WDL and ran that, it passed the quick and I did a extended which took 6.5 hours and it failed with error 08- too many bad sectors. This came up at the end of the drive.
Having it in my computer formatted it seems to work fine so I'm unsure if I should RMA it back to newegg.
I was wondering if anyone had such a similar experience and what they did with it, or what I should do with it.
I just ran a checkdisk though windows and put on the option to check and attempt to fix bad sectors, it said there was nothing wrong with it.
Thanks for your time
