Does anyone know why my brand new wd2000js would only format as 127gb on an asus a8n-e mobo? I realize there is a difference between WD gigs and MS gigs, but it should cost me 70gb in space. This is a brand new rig i built today so all the pieces are brand new.

Any thoughts are greatly appreciated!

The interface of the drive is irrelevant. What OS? If it is XP, installing SP2 will resolve the issue. If you want to format to full capacity from the setup, you'll need to slipstream SP2 on the installation disk.

?
I didn't do any of that slipstream stuff, and XP saw my whole 250GB

My XP had SP2 slipstreamed on it. It recognized the empty 300gb drive, but not the 200gb drive with data on it.
