WD says that it was up in 1/7/2004 which means that it had a year and 2 month warranty?!?!?

I'm confused i thought they where either a year or 3 years...

maybe i'm wrong

or just pissed off...

It depends on whether the drive is OEM or retail, and the specific model of drive. I've got a 60GB EIDE that must have a three year warranty, if not 5. Bought it quite some time ago and checked last weekend and the warranty is still up. Have to get around to sending it in, it's making a loud whir whenever it is powered. Upon talking to a friend of mine with the same drive, his has been doing the same thing.

from what ive seen all the bb drives only have a one year warranty

That's not a special edition drive. The special edition has a JB instead of a BB on the end of the model number.
