My PC is driving me nuts. It's been this way from day 1, but it won't shut down right. Takes about 5-7 minutes to shutdown, but less than 45 sec to boot up and load up all running programs (YIM, Nforce, etc)

So I figure I am gonna go back to Win2000 and see how it runs on my new pc, then if I don't like it switch to XP Pro again, but I never used SATA drivers when configuring my dual 74GB Raptors.. it never even asked for them, the drives just showed up so I didn't put anymore thought into it.

Any insight into this?

A64, A8N-SLI mobo, 2x Raptors using the Red SATA connectors (Promise?)

Thanks!

You should use the N-Force SATA ports. The only drivers you'd need would be for the Promise controller you are using. More than likely it's a driver problem with that controller. I've got an A8N-SLi and two 74GB Raptors that I am using and I do not have that issue. So my advice would be to use the black SATA ports. Or find an updated Promise controller driver.
