and the 7200.10 uses perpendicular recording, definitely a plus.

it's been dropping about $5 every week or so for the last month.

If your motherboard has an SATA connector on it, it will work. Doesn't matter if it's SATA I (1.5 GB/second) or SATA II (3.0GB/second) as the SATA specification stresses backward compatability.

In fact just in case you run into a situation where the drive DOESN'T work on an SATA I mobo, the drive has a jumper which will let you run it in SATA I mode by default. Mine actually shipped with this jumper set to 1.5GB/sec.

Short answer: YES. :D
