WD 8mb cache 120 caviar randomly failed?! HELP!

Okay, so my computer seems to be on a death run lately. Earlier today, I had several LEGAL bittorrent downloads running, saving onto my F: drive, which is on primary IDE cable, slave drive, a WD120gb 8mb cache caviar drive. I was just starting another download when suddenly I get an error that says "F drive is not formatted. Do you wish to format F now?" And that's when it came crashing down. I went to my computer, tried to browse the drive, but I got the format message on most of the folders within it. Restarted, and ran chkdsk after restart, and I got this message:

File Record Segment X Unreadable, where X is a number, and it did it for every single segment from like 1 to 14000. Went on to the next step, checking indexes, and it was locked at 0% for like 3 hours. Killed the process, and ran WD diagnostics. Quick test says drive is dead; smart info failed. Haven't run the extended test, as I am currently running File Scavenger in an attempt to salvage any of the 90gb I lost. File Scav has been running for 3 hours or so, and it is only at 3%. Has not found any recoverable files yet either.

Please help...the drive is still under warranty, and I have some of the stuff on it backed up, but there are a lot of movies (legal of course), about 50gb worth, that I would prefer not to lose. I am pretty sure the drive is dead, but I am wondering a couple of things:

What could have caused this? I've read the data corruption thread before, but I can't see anything that applies. The drive was giving me no warning clicks or anything to impending doom. Recently, another drive in my system was corrupted, but that was due to a corrupted partition table, which I think occured a while ago. SATA cables are shielded, ram is stable, system is mildly oc'd, but stable, prime 95 ran perfectly fine for about 12 hrs.

Secondly, how can I recover any data/is anything possible?
I'm open to suggestions for programs. Gonna let file scav run overnight. Also, any diagnostic tools I can use to check for sure if the drive is dead would be useful as well.

Here is my system:

P4 3.0C @ 3.35 on P4P800 Deluxe
2x SATA Raptors 36gb raid0
2x 512 MB Mushkin lvl one pc3500 ram
Geforce 4 Ti 4600
Primary IDE: Master: WD 8mb 250gb, Slave: WD 8mb 120gb (problem drive)
Secondary IDE: Master: TDK 32x velocd, Slave: DVD Rom

Also, I do not believe this is a power supply problem, as I upgraded my power supply just this past weekend from a Turbolink 420W to an Antec 450W. My 3.3v line was unstable on the Turbolink, and now Asus probe reports all voltages stable.

I would let Prime and Memtest run for a while longer and try testing the failed drive with the WD diags in another box. Partition tables don't just corrupt themselves for no reason whatsoever. However, with symptoms like you're describing on the current drive, it sounds like a gremlin infestation. Could just be a bad drive, could be a flaky controller.
