I have a Western Digital 80 gig hard drive /w 8 mb cache, WDC-WD800JB-00FMA0. It makes a "kicking sound" when it boots up, and a few days ago my screen had all of these wierd colors all over it that appeared all of the sudden, so I just restarted and everything worked fine. My temps are all perfect.....any suggestions. I just plan on letting it screw up one day, and have to send it in for warranty and just buy a hitachi drive.

Hard drive clicking is generally known as a Bad Thing TM
Backup any important data and RMA that sucka!

you are referring to a noticeable click during operation or just that little kick up sound it makes when the computer boots? see if it passes WD's diagnostics

Best Buy has them on sale this week for $29.99 after rebates if you think you may need a new one.

Or Circuit City has the 160gb on sale for $59.99 after rebates this week also.
