just got this in and now all im hearing from one drive is clicking does this mean its a dud? also i cant even boot into windows now either -___-

clicks 10 times then goes silent for 20 seconds then clicks 10 more times.. and repeats.

my hdd s.m.a.r.t. is disabled is this the problem?

edit:
ok i found these known problems..

a "click" is the drive recalibrating
it will do that if there is an intermittent power problem (as it reinitializes)
it will also do that if there is a read or write error, so if you have a poor data cable connection or crappy cables it will do it
it will also do it if there is thermal distress (HDD heating up or too hot, hot parts are bigger than cold parts, needs to recalibrate)

im guessing its a power issue then because i just did the sata mod on my psu and added another connector.

do you have another psu or another computer to test the drive ? if continues to click then it's rma time

eh now my other raptor is doing it too.. bah.. guess its time to rma psu..

Holy crap! I was just going to post here with the same issue. My 74 Gig Raptor is making that clicking sound constantly. So this is not a good thing I'm guessing eh?

Got my computer from Cyberpower so I guess I get what I paid for.

Is there any particular reason why you have SMART turned off? I have not had any problems I could ever attribute to it, and the smart warnings have alerted me to problems several times before total drive failure.

I would enable smart, and let it run for a bit and view the results.
