I have installed all the latest drivers and bios updates for my abit it7-max2 mobo. I also have WinXP SP2, but it still doesn't seem to work. I installed all the files that came with the HD and all the testing tools on the western digital website. They all say that the HD is OK, but that it only has 137GB. Windows says it has 250GB.

After I fill up about 137gb of data, windows just says some files are corrupted. It's not a problem with the HD, I already returned it and got a new one. I have already formatted it twice too. Any ideas? Are there any free tools out there to test it better?
 
Sounds like you dont have 48-bit disk access properly supported.

OK, I installed the latest IAA drivers. Do you think this will fix the problem? I have the latest bios and large disk access supported. Is there a way to test? The WD program says it still has 137GB.
