I'm looking to do a Watercooling setup most probably in the Obsidian 800D. I need to know the best suggestions, price isn't too much a concern but keep it reasonable. We priced one at Koolance, full unity from them was like 550$, But i think if we want something that both has flare and unique attitude, and best performance for money spent, that's not a good idea, any insight?
 
Well, do you want to cool the cpu or the gpu? If both, how many? Exact specs would be helpful.
 
Looking at cooling the entire rig outside of the HDD's, It could be up to two of the highest end cards end single GPU cards, or one 5970. The hardware isn't written in stone so please keep alittle bit of opion for either intel or AMD for the moment.
 
Have definitely decided on the Corsair obsidian 800D. Single 5970, Intel i760 on p55 and 2 sticks of RAM 8GB.

You'll need incidentals: fans for the radiator (Sythe slipstreams are nice), tubing, compression fittings (size depends on tubing.....Bitspower makes by far the snazziest and best designed), and some coolant.

I chose the high end because you seem to want that kind of choice, ther are other cheaper models of each, but those I mentioned you'll only have to buy once.

Are you going with three monitors? Because in that case, a 5970 is a relatively bad idea - poor CF scaling in Eyefinity.

Also, magoo hit all the nails on their heads.
 
Question about compression fittings, where are they needed, or useful. Also do they connect straight to the tubing or do they require other fittings.

As for compressions, they are no better than the standard barbs and herbie or radiator clamps, which in most cases are about 1/2 the cost if you use nice BitsPower barbs, even less if you use cheap-ass plastic or some crap brand.
But, and a big but.....compressions you can use over and over, they come in practically any angle and design you have in mind, and they look very professional.

The standard compression has a male and a female end. The male end screws into your block and the female accepts the tubing and the tubing is then secured with a screw on compression ring. Nothing else is needed.
If you are wishing an angle off the block, such as 90 or 45 degrees, you place an angle adapter into your block and then screw a standard compression fitting into the opposite end of the adapter..............in other words, straight shot = 1 standard fitting, angles = 2 separate fittings, making the cost a bit more.
