WCG project(s) issue

I set in my preferences the Help Conquer Cancer project, but I'm being issued GFAM units, instead. Is there a shortage of other work?

There was a temporary slowdown of HCC recently by request of the researchers. It's back to normal speed now.

Make sure to select HCC only and uncheck the 'If there is no work available ...' setting.

Did you change your preferences from GFAM to HCC?

Try selecting GFAM only, save profile, select HCC only and save profile again. I've had weird stuff happen where preference changes don't get applied.

Sometimes there is a small delay from when you change your preferences on the WCG site and when their servers actually get the "update". Also, if you change the "My Projects" selection it will override the all of the individual device profiles you may have set up. (home, school, work, default)

when you change your settings make sure you go into boinc and update the project each time you change a setting. otherwise it will wait until the next time its set to update which is every 3 hours by default thus ignoring any setting changes done between the last update and what settings are set at the time of the default update.

The first 8 units persisted to be GFAM, but I'm now only receiving HCC units on the machine I added. Thanks, all!

ya, just make sure to uncheck the "if no work..." option, so you only get what you selected....nice to hear your back to pumping out what you want.
