I'm currently just using fans to cool my setup (see sig) and am thinking about upgrading to water cooling but I know nothing about it. Does anyone know of any kits that are good for a noob, but that also work well? I've heard some good things about the GIGABYTE GH-WIU02 3D Galaxy II: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835128015

Any comments on that kit or other suggestions? Thanks.
 
Eh... If you're going for a CPU only kit, you might as well get good parts to start with :). There's no reason to cripple yourself with lower-end stuff, which is only a small order of magnitude better than highend air cooling. Also, with lots of overclocking, that quad will QUICKLY outpace that kit.

Seriously, go buy seperate parts and string them all together.

CPU: Dtek Fuzion
Pump: MCP655 (If you plan on upgrading to a GPU loop later) or a Dtek Db-1 if you'll stay CPU only.
Radiator: Any dual radiator (MCR220, BIP 2.120, PA120.2, Coolingworks etc.)
Tubing: Masterkleer 7/16" tubing
Fans: Yate Loon Fans.

All can be had for only a tiny bit more than that coolermaster kit, and will perform much better.

QFT. I've gone the "kit" route before and it simply isn't worthwhile.
 
Thanks for the info. I'll probably check out that setup, but I think I'm going to have to upgrade cases first. I've got an Antec 900 and love it, but the inside is just way to cramped and cluttered (I doubt there's room for WC stuff as it is now).

Yeah, I had to tear out parts of my P180 to mount my system (though the pump I'm using is admittedly huge) and the 900 is even more cramped, mostly due to the comparatively poor cable management options.
