This will be my first attempt at water cooling : )

I'm building a UHMW and Lexan box to sit on my Aria case.
It will hold the Rad, Pump and Reservoir.

Here's what I have done so far.

I'm waiting on some acrylic tube to come in to build the res.

Here's a picture of the box on top of the Aria

I'm planning to put an intake on the front of the box with a 120mm fan guard over it.

The last pic is of the insides and the waterblock.

Thanks,

My plan is to run the tubing straight up and out top of the case, with quick connects to the wc box. There's plenty of room between the ps and the dvd drive for the tubing.

oh, sorry, thought u were going around the back...yeah, its gonna look real nice...

I dunno, SFF just never struck me as "elegant"...small yes, elegant no...but they do look nice, and they fit in tiny places.

Looks sweet so far. I'm a huge fan of DIY things and am building my own WC box and res (see last 2 pages of my log).

Shouldn't you have the fan actually connected to the rad? I hope you are going to seal that space between so that it acts like a shroud. Is that fan going to push or pull air? Most will tell you that it is better to pull air through the rad. I really like that thick black acrylic/plexi. Where did you get it.

Where are you getting your quick disconects? I need 4-6 of them for my project.

Can't wait to see more and sorry for the flood of questions.

Thanks,
The top and sides of the box will be covered with lexan so the shroud will be sealed.
The fan will pull air through the rad.
The thick black stuff is UHMW from Mcmaster; I use it on the combat robots I build. It's easy to work with and holds up well. I am also covering the front and bottom of the box with a thin sheet of carbon fiber.
I got the quick disconnects from Mcmaster.

I read through your build log, that's quite an ambitious project your building, it looks great so far.

Edit:spelling

Gotta link for Mcmaster?
Thanks for the reply BTW. Glad you like my project too.

Thanks for the links Bio-Hazard and for the ones in that other thread a few days ago. Any recommendations for the cheapest ones for 1/2" ID tubing? The ones at USP are going to cost me $78 for 4 or $115 for 6 (that's assuming that each piece comes seperate?). Sorry for the slight threadjack and hassle.

VBT_Robotics,
Any pics of your combat robots?

I got a little more done this weekend.

I cut out a short cylinder of UHMW to put in the center of the shroud so I don't have to worry about air leaks.
I mounted the fan and rad in place and painted the white part of the fan black.

I cut the hole for the front intake and mounted a fan guard and some gutter guard.

I got the res cut and drilled. I'm waiting on some acrylic glue from tap plastics to arrive to finish it up.

Also got my 6600GT installed in the pc.
