I have a Coolermaster WaveMaster since 2004 and it served me very well. I will reuse it to hold my new Core 2 Duo setup but I wanted to address some issues with the airflow.
I wanted it to be more efficient than the default setup but not more noisier. For this reason, I decided to yank the 2x80mm fans setup from the front and cut a bit on the drive cage side so a 120mm fan could fit and here is the preliminary result :

Front view (I was going to shave a bit of corner metal to clear the fan intake fully).
Side view
The fan in it is a Thermaltake POS I picked from another case to be used as template to determine how much to cut and where to drill. So far, it looks nice and is a tight fit. I ordered a Silverstone FM121 fan with the included controller so I will mod the knob just below the fan on the little corner to control the speed and noise ratio. This one has a maximum 110 cfm and is needed to improve airflow since the 2x80mm fan can go up to 54 cfm if the specifications on the web is accurate (27 cfm per fan). I can't use a 120mmx38mm fan since it would hit the harddisks.
To avoid impeding the intake too much, I will place my 2 disks (1 raptor and 1 caviar) above and below the fan so it has a free tunnel. I'm still pondering which one will go where (raptors get hot so it need some airflow, remain to determine which side would benefit more).
I will put the 80mm fan I salvaged in the top blowhole since there are no fan in it (always delayed the purchase till now). Since the rear 80mm fan can't be modded to fit a 92mm fan unless I use a 80mm -> 92mm fan adapter and install it on the outside, I'm pondering if the 120mm fan mod would be sufficient to improve the overall airflow. Mine has a side hole pre-made :
In the setup, I'm using a Thermalright SI-128 with the same FM121 fan/controller set so I think the side hole would be sufficient to suck fresh air into the cpu and then circulate around mosfets and northbridge. The power supply is a Seasonic S12-500HT with a 120mm bottom fan in it.
Personnally, I believe it's good as is but I would love to hear what others think of this and suggest ways to improve airflow.
