I'm soon to be the owner of a webcam(i forgot the model but i can let you know).

I want to put it IN my aquarium. Anyone have any good ideas on how to make a casing for it? i think it would be cool to be able to see the fish swimming up to it...a different perspective.

I was thinking just going to home depot, getting some plastic tubing, or somthing, a piece of glass, and a rubber hose(to enclose the cable). Then getting some silicone calk and sealing it up. anyone have anything better?

Sounds like you've got it all sorted in your head already.

Be sure to post a link to your amazing webcam once you set it up. Sounds kinda neat. ;)

update...I have the webcam, and i have a piece of plexiglass and the rubber hose. My dad had the brilliant idea of using a jar, so I'm going to find a plastic peanut butter jar or something that is big enough, i'm just hoping it'll look OK, my tank might not be big enough for this endevour.

current setup can be seen here

i need to get a usb extension cord. I shoulda grabbed one when newegg was doing .99c shipping. oh well. time for a compusa sale.

so it currently updates the picture every 3 minutes?
Sounds like a cool idea, you could try making a plexiglass box to encase it in so u dont get bad focus caused by the bent plastic in front of the lens.

It's updating every 5 minutes(my webservice is free(some people who I know), and i don't want to kill their bandwith). I would host it off of my local webserver but adelphia blocks port 80. oh well.
