ok i have a X850xt pe and also 6800 gt for my rig can't decide which one to run or how to cool it simple air cooling, or some watercooling i like both cards i think i could get more out of 850 in end but i want to have ram watercooled on it which kind bring 6800 gt back but toss in your 2 cents

I think ram cooling is a bit over rated.... Small pasive heatsinks will work just as good, if not better then a massive water block covering the card. I say go with the x850 and match it with a DDMaze4 water block.

x850 xt-pe>6800GT copper ram sinks and maze4 for the win(my exact future setup.. except with volt mods ;) )

Mmhmm, ramsinks are all that is really necessary for cooling the memory on a GPU. However, in some cases, the airflow around the GPU may be hindered and the ramsinks will be rendered useless, in these cases, a small fan to get some air flowing over the ramsinks will be in order.

Rofl, speaking of ramsinks, I appear to be missing one. Had them for a long time, tried them on my 9800 XT, but the glue/sticky pad that held them onto the video card sucked ass, so they fell off. I took them off and never used them again. Then I found them yesterday and decided to lap the bottoms of them flat and use them on my X800XT AIW. Used arctic ceramique and arctic epoxy or some shit like that. Works great so far. The only bad part is that I am short 1 ramsink, lol.

thank i'm going to go with x850xt pe watercooled any idea about how far i can push it i'm at core at 573 and memory at 630 on air any guess on water what i may get

im hoping for 700~800 on mine, im staying modest so i wont be dissapointed... :)

remember that since its a 16 pipeline card that 100 mhz is a lot of performance

yea that would nice i guess handle 700- 800 :D hey is progarm that would track the heat in the gpu like asusprobe progarm that keep history of the temps so i can see wear it sit after hours of playing games
