started thinking about switching over to watercooling and was just wondering if you guys could suggest a decent setup to begin with. i know most of you say avoid the kits, so could u reccommend the seperate pieces? i'm not looking for anything super great, just need to cool the main processor (p4 2.4c and most likely will be o/c). thanks for the help.

What case do you have?

Setup I would go with:

DTek White water or Dangergen RBX

Danner Mag 3 or swiftech MCP600

DTek JR120 heatercore/shroud or a bigger heatercore/custom shroud combo from an autoparts store

1/2" ID 3/4" OD tubing of your choice

Either a T line for filling or a custom reservoir. Bay reservoirs are expensive and not really that great of designs.

Giblet has some good parts listed.

I would add to those the additional pump options of Eheim (1250 is what I use) and Hydor L30.

Heatercore from an autoparts store may require some modding on your part, but may be cheaper. Selection will depend on how willing you are to do some cutting on the inside of your case.

I recommend the use of Clearflex tubing. It can be had from McMaster-Carr under the identification of Chemical PVC Tubing, or something like that. Maybe beverage grade?

T-line's are great for small setups that can also stay mobile.

You've got it right. I'm running it in my system:

The Synthetic Silicone tubing at mcmaster is also worth a try. I might try some in my next setup. See this thread:
