watercooling "kit" for q9550?

I've dabbled with the idea of watercooling for years, however I lug my computer to a freinds house every friday for lans and I was always worried about having to drain the water etc...

Are their any water setups that wouldn't require doing so to move the tower?

Any "all in one" kits worth it?

I currently use a Sunbeam Core Contact freezer with a Scythe S-flex that keep my CPU below 65c on orthos/prime95. Usual gaming I never see 55c+.

I am also looking for a kit that would fit nicely in an Antec Nine Hundred.

Swiftech Apogee Drive kit will be your best bet. The 120 will work fine, but if you OC, go for the 220 kit.

I am overclocking a quad core q9550 to 3.94 but would like to hit 4.0 but current cooling is not suffecient for a 24/7 4.0 oc.

another option would be the freezone elite. those are pretty self contained -- but are much larger in the case than they appear when looking at them in a picture.

The Freezone Elite is for someone who wants to do as little maintenance as possible since it is a closed system. Everything is preassembled.

I've been looking into getting the Freezone Elite since I want to overclock the shit out of the Core i7 920 and that seems to be the easiest method besides extreme air cooling.

It's OOS at the moment, but NewEgg, FrozenCPU, Performance-PC's, SVC, SideWinder, and Jab-Tech all carry it. Best price I've seen on it is 160-ish.

Thank you. I will keep it in mind. I still am having trouble figuring out where to mount a radiator in this case, it wouldn't fit int he hard drive bay so I'd have to take it out and find a way to mount the fan/front bay grills to the radiator and get it all to line up on the front .

Only other options I see is to mount it outside the case or maybe on the top and take out the "big boy".

What's wrong with just moving the entire thing? You're moving it by car, right? Short of flying, I don't see why you'd *need* to drain and dismantle the loop. Bumpy car ride? Gotta carry it up a few flights of stairs? Secure all the connections and you should be good if you don't shake it around *that* much. FWIW I've got a watercooled rig that I take to LANs at school, granted the furthest I'll go is a few minutes by car to another dorm, but I've never had an issue with moving the entire system.

Since you don't need to drain it and disassemble like I do to get the rig home, you can probably secure your rad and res (if you're using one) pretty well.

Good to know. I live in Maine, so yes the roads are mega bumpy . My computer comes with me on a 40m drive to work, then 25 minutes out to pick up a friend, then about an hour back to my other friends house were we lan.

From what I have read reviews wise, these all in one systems (self contained) don't cool any better than My cooler/Xigmatek/TRUE/etc.. and in many cases cool worse, so It looks like if I do it I would probably go with a case better designed around water cooling.

Yep, that's where I was going to lead to. These kits seem better oriented towards "hey look I have water in my computer" than serious cooling power.

I'm sure some people have better suggestions than me, but I'm sure we can help figure out a way to secure it all down so you can get some nice cooling as well as mobility. After all, this *is* an enthusiast forum, we like to have our cake and eat it even if it's a dumb idea.

I don't see internal water cooling as feasible in this case. I have seen VERY few people having it done and it required losing most of their hard drives and the HDD cages in the front of the case. I love the Antec 900 so I don't know as if I am read to throw it out for water cooling yet . I have my q9550 @ 3.94 running "cool enough" I just wish I could see idle temps lower than 44c and load temps that didn't come so close to 70c.
