Watercooling GPU (Worth It?)

Just a quick question about watercooling graphic cards. Will liquid cooling actually yield better clocks? I mean the gpu core load temps are insanely tamed but wat about the temps of those memory chips wouldn't they b the same temps as b4 meaning u'd still get artifacts and all that crap? Cuz right now I gotta evga 6800gs and I can't clock too high max w/ o artifacts is like 515/1.18 so thats pretty weak, I'm looking to get at least 535/1.35. Possible?
 
If you are worried about the memory not getting enough cooling, then get a full cover block that cools the memory as well. It may reduce artifacts becuase it will keep the mem cooler. But yeah it's worth it (especially noise wise).
 
wat kinda gpu waterblocks cover the memory chips too, fits 6800gs and is relatively cheap or at least reasonably priced?

Looking for the GPU WC trifecta! The problem when it comes to GPU blocks that cover memory as well is price. DD's NV-68 will cover both and it's made from one chunk of copper, which makes it expensive, $125 retail. But I just picked up one for $50 bucks on eBay and I know there are dudes selling them on the FS/FT forum.

A little bit cheaper is Innovatek's Cool-matic. They retail for less than $100. I've seen on 'em on eBay as well and there may be a couple on the FS/FT forum as well.

Bottom line is that you're going to be hard pressed to find these used for a cheap as you can get just a GPU water block and then heatsink the memeory chips. The other problem with these (at least the NV-68) is getting them to seat properly on the GPU AND memory chips. Once you get past that hurlde though, you should probably be able to OC a video card much better with a full block. That's the route I'm going at least... ;)

The RAM on a 6800GS is not going to hit 1350MHz without volt-modding.

Don't bother watercooling the memory, it really isn't worth it. Ramsinks and a little airflow are all that's needed. A full-cover block will also increase coolant temps more, so I'd go for something like a Maze4 (I have one and although I only just installed it I love it). Because the core is cooler the PCB itself, and thus memory, goes down in temp anyway.
 
just get a maze 4 or silverprop fusionHL and stick on some OCZ copper ramsinks.
 
I decided to go for the LP Maze 4 as it will work in SLI if I ever decide to get another card later. Not sure on the performance difference though.

The DD Ramsinks don't look very attractive in the picutre....Anything else that would look better? I'm going to water cool mine to eliinate noise and because I saved $25 by getting the cheap 7800 without the copper HS.
