Watercooling 1U Server Rack

Hello,

My friend asked me if I knew anything about watercooling a server board.. He's got it a 1U rack and also has this server in his apartment. He says the noise is too unbearable and wants to change to water. I was a little skeptical at the idea of mixing server and water, but I told him I'd ask the experts here at [H].

Anyone have any idea and experience on this?

I imagine the only challenge would be finding a way to route the tubing out of the box to the rest of the loop. As for 'mixing server and water,' it's like anything else with computers and water-cooling, you have to be careful and triple check all of your connections, preferrably leak-testing your system before actually installing it. Using a non-conductive cooling liquid also aids in the safety department, something like PC Ice, which I'm currently using without issue.
