Watercooled Power Supply?

didn't Koolance make on once? I don't think it was available on it's own though. you had to get it with the full case.

Either way, you will still need a fan on the PSU, since you can't cool all teh components with water, but you will most likely be able to mount it on your case floor where the intake fan can cool it sufficiently. Trust me, anyhting that doesnt have beefy heatsinks on it in your PSU isn't going to make any real difference in case temps. As far as power connections from the bottom of the case...think spare power cable, some crimp terminals and a IEC socket.

One bonus to floor mounting your PSU...on large cases like the Lian-Li PC-70, you will now have more room for your radiator(s).

Now whererever there is a heatsink, replace that with a straight-line waterblock. If you can get a 1/2" system, cool, but I doubt you'll be bable to fit anything that large in there.

that's not quite true, check this out

that guy who did the roach mod, out of carbon fiber with the wings that raised up, had a watercooled PSU

i don't remeber the specs, but it was for 115v/220v, and it was really small - let me see if i can find the link to that project

EDIT: http://www.mashie.org/casemods/y2k05.html down just alittle - he said this

"With everything else watercooled it would be bad to have a noisy fan in the PSU so this is the solution... A watercooled 250W PSU made by AquaComputer as well. "

id love to WC my PSU, but first I'd rather WC my northbridge...for my PSU the most Im thinking of doing is removing the built in fans (as its an antec silentpsu but its still too much for me :D) and putting a 7v or less 90 mm in the top of the case with a hole in the PSU on the top...
