water cooling virgin here please help

had to repost i posted in the wrong section i am building a new water cooling kit and i want to use tygon 3603 1/2 tubing with danger den 8800 gtx water block the water block has 1/2 barbs on it will the compression fitting 1/2 id-3/4 od work for me with this card can any one recommend a good waterblock for a qx9650 processor lads and how is the pipe staying on in this picture on the video card without any clamps is this dangerous or what do i need to buy http://www.dangerden.com/store/popup_image.php?type=D&id=335&title=DD Tower - 26&area=C
 
For Tygon 3603, you really need to use these Bitspower compression fittings since the outer wall is larger than normal. I ran into this problem by buying the normal compression fittings only to discover that the outer wall was too big to slide the compression ring over.

For your QX9650 you cannot go wrong with the D-Tek Fuzion v2 waterblock. Kicks ass performance with great overall flow.

Lastly, your link for the Danger Den picture is broken. Please relink it so we can give you input. :)
 
I'd use Masterkleer 7/16" over 1/2" barbs instead. Works just as well, and saves you the cash on the compression fittings.
 
I know a lot of folks like the Masterkleer tubing, but I found that it kinks too easily on short runs without adding elbows. As far as saving money on compression fittings, well, it adds nice window dressing plus not needing worm clamps/zip ties and gives a clean look.
 
I've done some /really/ short runs and never had a problem with kinking, and I don't use elbows at all. If you've got a turn tight enough that Masterkleer kinks, you need to work on layout.
