Water Cooling Ram

Yeah, Its REALLY just for looks. Ever since DDR3, there has been no need to actively cool your RAM. DDR2 could get pretty hot, especially if you OC, but no way modern 1.5v DDR3 or even the 'ultra high' voltage 1.8v DDR3 won't ever get hot enough to need active cooling. DDR 4 runs 1.3v at max, so no future potential either.

Really, its to get that 'wow' factor when you look at your system.

The only way you would see any advantage to doing this is in a situation where you are trying to remove as much heat from sealed/semi-sealed enclosure that has no provisions for airflow through it. You could then dump the heat outside of the enclosure/case. Otherwise it's just for flashiness.

Current RAM techs don't put off enough heat to benefit from watercooling. When you see the high end overclocking record chasers using liquid nitrogen pots to cool RAM, it's not because the ram gets hot. It's because it survives longer at extreme low temps when they really, really up the voltage for max OCs.

Never honestly heard of RAM heating up all that much...power requirements are pretty low.
