Water Cooling Needed as CPU Overheating?

Hello folks,

I have a large problem with over heating, so let me start with the basic issue.

I have a Geforce BFG Tech. 8800 GTX OC 2 - fan cooled. I have a large case with 4 Thermaltake Cyclo 120mm fans. and a Pentium D 3.0GHz duel core with a CNPS9500A-LED Aero Flower Cooler.

However when I play CPU/GPU intensive games like Bioshock and Splinter Cell Chaos Theory my CPU over heats. So I figure I need some water cooling for both my GPU and CPU, too cool them both down. I was thinking of getting the Zalman Resenator XT Black. see link;

However it costs around £250 which is quite expensive, Though it's a very good model I believe. Can anyone give me any suggestions?
 
Don't need water... for the cost of water you could get a new processor and motherboard that'd not only blow your current chip out of the water in a huge way, but it'd run cooler too.

You're running DDR2 RAM, right? It's a Pentium D, so more than likely yes. Assuming you can reuse your old RAM, here's an example of what I'd get rather than throwing down so much on that Zalman kit.

Intel E2180 processor - $75 or so USD, don't know what that'd be over there, but shouldn't be too crazy.
Gigabyte P35-DS3L motherboard - $60 USD
Thermalright Ultima 90 and fan, $50 or so USD

So you're at under $200 USD. That will beat the hell out of your Pentium D, and you shouldn't have any overheating problems.

If you don't want to bother with all that, pick up a Thermalright HR-05 for your 8800 GTX and a Thermalright Ultima 90 or Ultra 120 Extreme. Note that none of the Thermalright heatsinks come with fans, though, so you'll need a 120mm fan for the HR-05 and either a 90mm fan for the Ultima 90 or a 120mm fan for the Ultra 120 Extreme.

Water really isn't worth the added cost unless you intend to run massive overclocks, and then the Zalman passive kit you linked is not the way to go.
