water cooling kit that replace xp-120?

i am no overclocker...even if i do overclock its very temporary.
right now i am debating with myself to go for xp-120 and a 120mm fan or a water cooling kit. xp-120 and fan is gonna cost around 80 bucks (newegg), but i have a bit more to spare so i was thinking of maybe getting a watercooling kit for around 100 dollars.

i know some of you may think its unnecssary since i don't overclock, but i would like to try new things so... :rolleyes: :rolleyes:
 
Most water cooling kits are "junk". I would suggest building your own kit as it is often cheaper and it will usually give you better performance too.
 
where do i buy the components from? any suggested combo?
the reason i wanted a kit was to make the experience easy (as this is my first time going watercooling), not sure if i could conjure something up and build my own lol
 
Here is the site where i got my watercoolin stuff.Frozen CPU They are pretty good, but get all the components, instead of using a watercooling kit, DO NOT buy there PRe-configured kits, the S&H is cheaper if you just browse around the site and get the same parts. its about 10 bucks cheaper...
 
Its true that custom kits will always perform better, but there are some good kits just not prefab ones. Things like the aquagate and hydrocool are just a wank and suck ass.

A decent kit thats not very expensive and performs pretty well would be the new bigwater kit. I only suggest it cause its mega cheap, but still performs well(look at 3dgameman.com's review). The H20-120 from swiftech is quite a bit better but a tad expensive for what your after.

That said. If you want the best performance for your dollar and dont mind doing research and buying components individually and doing it all yourself would probably be your best bet.

The bigwater will outperform an XP-120 quite easily even though it is a kit, plus theres lots of extra parts to buy for it if you wanted to upgrade. The H20-120 would own the XP-120 but its quite a bit more than $100 lol. For an easy experience like you say i'd recommend a kit like the Bigwater even if you do suffer a small performance hit and then buy something like the h20-120 or individual components when your more confident.
 
the xp-120 with a high cfm fan will kick any cheapo watercooling unit.
also, the xp-120 just keeps on chugging, and is very pretty
 
MCW6000+MCP350+single/dual heatercore (or even rad)+3/8 ID tubing will outperform that with a lot less noise too.
