i just set up a new watercooling set up i have 2 swiftech blocks one GPU block and the other is a blockCPU, any ways i have a 120mm delta <- A delta on the rad which is a black ice micro and have one of thoes internal 5.25 resivours, and a enhime 1250 pump, not to shabby equipment right??, i have it running so it goes rad to pump to gpu to cpu back to res and im not OCed everything is stock, what can i do to lower temps

im running a
3200+ XP
MSI K7N2L MOBO
1GB OCZ Ram
2X160GB Maxtors 7200RPM
G4 ti4800
SoundBlaster Live Ex Plat
all in a clear Acrilic Case, the rad is external with the 120 Rad fixed on it .. where did i go wrong?????

You using a good thermal interface material?

Unless the room you're in is amazingly hot, that seems really weird to me :).

Erik

well the cpu and gpu blocks could use some lapping, case i can no longer see any sort of reflection but still 50C... still kinda hot am i right??, even if i lap it how much is it going to go down just about 10C at most 40 still kinda high for watercooled, + my equipment is some of the best right? my room is probably on hottest id'e say 24C

Remount the CPU block. Perhaps you used too much thermal paste as I have seen many times before. Also, I haven't used a 5,1/2in. res before and I am not sure if it provides an adequate volume of water. Perhaps daisychain two together?

Are you sure its a Black Ice Micro? Thats a small ass POS couldn't-cool-a-thing 80mm radiator. That radiator can barely handle the CPU heat much less a GPU block! The 120mm radiator is the Black Ice Xtreme. If you are really using the micro, then I'm not suprised at the temps one bit. If you are really using the Xtreme, then I am.

Things you can do to try and lower your temps:

Make sure your watercooling loop goes pump outlet (the top where the Eheim logo is) -> CPU -> GPU -> radiator -> reservoir -> pump inlet (the small side with the grey cap thingy). If you had switched your pump inlet and outlet thay may have caused your high temps.

Use Artic silver 5 or some other high quality thermal paste and apply it correctly. Reapply the paste, make sure the waterblocks are fitted TIGHTLY against the processor, and clamp it down tightly as well.

Make sure your radiator (whichever it is) is getting fresh cold air. You said you mounted externally, so just make sure your fan is blowing cold air onto it rather than sucking hot air from the case through it.

Do you have pics of your system? If so, post them so we can take a closer look.

ill take some pic's and post them tonight cause im at work right now, the rad i have is a black ice pro, ill take some full pic's of all my equipment and you guys tell me what i should do if you can?? i really dont see anything wrong with the set up i have looks alright to me but i was expecting about 30C idel with water cooling 50 is way to hight under air cooled i got lower temps if i put on the stock heat sink that came with the chip i probably get lower temps ...

anyways lemmy know if you think of anything

How bout this?

Those are really the only options you have. Running 50c sounds like a mistake during installation to me. Check your loop order (YES IT IS VERY IMPORTANT FOR TEMPS), waterblock installation etc...

ok, i think i will this week end im going do a total overhall of the system anyways im going to lap the gpu and cpu and change the tubeing ill pick up some new artic sliver 5, a thin razor blade layer is all i need correct?, and ill give that a shot ill still post up the pics thoe tonight so you guys can check it out

You do need a thin layer of AS5. Razorblade thin is usually best, but make sure you apply it evenly and coat the entire processor core surface.
