Water cooled PSU?

Just wondering if there were any purchasable PSUs out there that are water cooled... or do I have to mod my PSU?
 
aquacomputer had one i think, or some german watercooling company. I remember it being fairly weak though.
 
Your better off just getting something like the Seasonic S12 series, or the Antec Phantom. I have the S12 and it truly is silent, and more powerful than any commercially available watercooled PSU.
 
Sharka stocks a H20 cooled PSU and the coolant only runs through the outside of a massive heatsink. Biggest problem IMHO is that it is only 20 pins. :(
 
seal every hole in the psu and run non-conductive fluid thrugh it, cools the caps and everything :D

So how are you cooling off the rest of the PSU components? Convection?

yeah the caps will pop i ment have the whole thing being filled with non-conductive liquid

i did, a very detailed with lots of pics of the process, one that took me hours to write. The forum upgrade a year or so ago ate it, and i foolishly didn't have a back up. :mad:

I consider this pretty ghetto. I'll be doing a much more refined one for my new rig (parts already ordered) and will do a detailed write up of it.

thx, and i still have(had) a fan blowing blowing air through the PSU, i was able to use a quiet one though since the main heat source was WC'ed.

it's tempting to try a full submergence cooled PSU, but i don't have time to do it elegantly. I'll stick with doing basically the same as in the pics, but less "ghetto" :D

nice!

the fact that you also have a fan to circulate air past the other components deals with the key gripe that i have with WC'd PSU's that i have seen previously.

even if you deal the the power handling 'fets, you can't just let the rest of the electronics cook. you have addressed that issue in a simple and effective manner.
