Water Chiller

Hello Folks,
Does anyone here know if there exists a small water cooler that is not peltier based which will cool a water loop and the hot side of the water chiller is cooled by another water loop :confused:

I was originally thinking of sandwitching a large peltier between two water blocks, however it would be too inefficient and require a large psu to run it (while I want to build a silent system) and would dump too much heat into my room during the summer.

ie

cpu-vga-nb-etc = water chiller = large radiator (Mora 2 ?) with undervolted nexus fans

Well, your non-peltier criteria basically limits you to a phase-change system. Using that, you will not need a secondary loop, your phase change loop won't need "active" cooling
 
Hmm ... I was hoping to avoid any loud components in my next system. The idea was to create a larger temperature differential between the radiator and the ambient air so that convection would take over more of the work, and really slow moving fans would take care of the rest or be completely unrequired. I know you can use something like the reserator or the likes, but those won't be able to handle all the cooling needs for what I am planning (two single core cpus, video, nb, vreg, hdds, etc) and don't give as low of temps as active h2o cooling. The system is just in the inital planning stages so I am currently eliciting possible solutions thus if peltiers are the only viable option so be it - then i've got to figure out the most efficient configuration for 'em.
 
do you have a window handy, so you could conceivably mount the rad outside?

living with a heat pump and no AC is a HOT experience during the summer, regardless of if you happen to be using pelt or phase change.

in the last while, i have read about a few people using 24 volt pelts at 12 volts, because they can get more efficient opperation per heat pumped, as compared to running 12 volt pelts at full power.

i'm reasonably sure that you could splice a pair of waterblocks into a meanwell dedicated PSU, in order to eliminate most of the fan noise.

if your're willing to consider a pelt solution, let me know and i'll try to help you brainstorm something up.

first order of business should be to figure out how to move heat out of the room, regardless of what course of action you decide to take.
