So I was cleaning my GPU block and left the biggest o-ring in water that was a little too hot. The ring expanded and now it's too big to fit into the block. I placed it in my freezer for 4 hours. Still too big. Being that I need to have this done this weekend, I cut the o-ring to size and used clear waterproof silicone to bridge the gap where I cut it. Had anyone done this before? My plan is to keep this temp solution for one year. At next annual cleaning, I will purchase replacement o-rings. Is this just a bad idea?
