I have been learning from all of your great comments and realize just how much knowledge this forum has. I understand that different people have different views and preferences when it comes to hardware solutions.

I am in the process of picking the pieces parts to convert my air cooled toaster to a water cooled machine. I would like people's opinions on the best water block to go with a heater core from 2Fresh and a D5 pump. I have been looking at the TDX (Copper top), the Apogee and the Storm. What in your opinion is the best block for the money? I will be using 1/2" ID Tygon tubing and have been looking at the Maze4GPU(Brass) block for my video card.

I appreciate all the help that I have received so far and it has made the learning curve MUCH easier.
 
Really, the performace between those blocks is not very different. I say pick the cheapest one, but there are people out there who buy by looks, price be damned (AC).
 
I just got my new system up and running today and I'm using an AquaXtreme Whitewater Limited Edition(all copper). I'm idling around 23-24 and load around 35 and that's with the stock fans in my Aurora 3D case which don't push very much air at all. You can find them for just over $30, a steal imo.
 
i got my apogee for 30 shipped on the fs forum..

any one of those for 30 would be fine IMHO..

So there aren't people who buy by looks? Many AC people dont have AC gear because they like how it looks and dont mind the price premium? :confused:

He didn't say anything that wasn't true, he said something that wasn't necessarily needed though. Something you and many small bore people are guilty of very often, I am sure I do it on occasion as well. If you just ignore the comments threads wont get off topic like this one (yes I know I am contributing). If your going to put him on ignore, then put him on ignore the entire world doesn't need to know. The only reason to make your comment, and to call it a twitlist and not an ignore list is to try and create an argument and enflame tempers.

Dont let the pointless, harmless comments get to you and there will be no problem in the forum.

ON TOPIC

There are a number of blocks that will perform well for a low cost. Whitewater, MCW6002, TDX and Apogee. There is no reason to get the brass top on the TDX. If you are planning to get the D5 pump you can beat the TDX/D5 combo that DD has been selling. You might consider browsing FS/FT forums as you can usually find one of these blocks in there for a nice price.
