Hi All
I cannot find any stores that sell distilled water.
I have been told that the water used to top up a car battery is distilled!
Can this be used?
I understood distilled water should have the metal and stuff filtered out but i cannot source this locally.
Please some advice needed.
 
Every supermarket should have distilled water, Arrowhead, Sparklets etc. Like $1.30/gallon.
 
Halfords sell de-ionised water which can also be called battery top up water.

I buy the tetrosyl stuff from Asda... nice and cheap :)
 
You guys don't sell distilled water over there?? I know there are plenty of chemists making drugs somehow with distilled water.
 
Its stupid because i went to health food shop and a very big chemist (Boots) and they couldnt even order it in.
 
Would boiling water equate to distillation? Or would you have to filter and electrify (de-ionize) it too?

Is the halfords stuff distilled de-ionised water m8, because i think i have some already :D
Mine says Battery Top up, ideal for acid batterys and lava lamps.

distillation = boiling it, capturing the steam, and re-condensing the steam back into liquid. the end product leaves everything except water behind in the container that the water was boiled out of, in the last bit of water in there.

just boiling the water does not purify it in the same way, it just kills off anything living in it.

it doesn't matter too much which type it is. the goal is having pure water to start with, which both de-ionization and distillation give you.
