Warped cpu affect watercooling temps?

So currently to get my 2.6 oc, I had 2 80 side intakes, 2 80 back exaust, 1 80 top exaust, and 1 80 front intake fans, along with a silverstone 120 on top of a si-120 heatsink (the silverstone at max pushes 110cfm supposedly). With this setup (I know, too many fans) I idled at 35c and hit 55c at a load. I eventually found that for airflow reasons my top and front fans were worthless and now only have the side instake and back exaust.
Anyways, now that summer is apon me, I have had to lower my OC because I am hitting 57-58c at a load and experiencing crashes. Just reaching a 2.6 OC has been an uphill battle. I was getting 58-59 at a load with the stock heatsink and even after a si-120 + multiple laps and arctic silver 5 along with the current cooling setup, it did not reduce my temps much. From talking to people in the standard OC forum, it has been suggested that my cpu might be warped, and from the lack of improved performance, I suspect they may be right.
Now if anyone is still with me after this long of a post (sorry) I currently am looking into watercooling. I have moved my comp into my room and want it silent, watercooling could hopefully help my temps, and it seems like a fun project.
And on to my point, if I do have a warped cpu, will this keep a watercooling solution from helping also? I assume a cpublock works the same way as a air-heatsink just with the heat dispensed differently. So if I cant get a good enough contact I am afraid it will give me the same results.
Anyone have comments on this? Thanks for the help and for reading through my long winded post.
 
I would take a dry erase marker and make an X on ur cpu then take a very flat thing (ur waterblock) and then move it across there to see if there is any marker left and if its gone in some places and not in others the ihs is probly warped. You could lap the IHS if it is warped but that will void ur warranty.
 
Does a warrenty cover a warped cover? Guess it doesnt matter cause I voided my warrenty the moment I upped my volts. Thx for the advice tho, I will try it out when I get my stuff.
 
Nope, warrentee doesn't cover warped cover. The athlon64 heatspreaders are a bit higher on the edges than the middle. Go ahead and lap it, overclocking = void warrentee. Or, uncap it, but the SI is a clip-type, so it wouldn't work too well.
