Warning about NEWEGG!

After purchasing a 200.00 MSI K8N NEO4 Platinum SLI board and a Leadtek 6600 GT Extreme, I was pissed to find that my Motherboard was DOA and that they have failed to send the Games, software, and cables for my video card. After sending my board back within the return policy time so that I could get a new board they send me a refurbished board in a used beat up box from a nother model board and didnt send any cables book or software, after calling them they promised that if I sent the refurbished board back that they would send me a new one, well now that it past the warranty period new egg is saying that they can only send me a refurbished board. And not to mention that I still havent recieved my games, cables or software for my video card. Plus after giving a bad review they send me a guide on what to put in my product review. I Will never buy from Newegg again and I just thought that others should be informed of what is going on with them.
But hey, I only paid 200.0 for a refurbished board with no cables or software. and 220.00 for a video card with no cables, software, or instruction book.

Sometimes their shipping dept. gets messed up, call and ask for a manager or supervisor.

I would suggest you follow this mans advice

damn.. doesn't sound like newegg to me.... in my own personal experience, they've actually payed for my return shipping and sent me brand new motherboard with no extra charge. you should def. give them a ring.

That does sound out of character for them. Although policies do change when dealing with a product that's out of warranty.

I had a couple of drives fail on me, I was able to have my RMAs received, processed and replacements shipped within 48 hours. They even sent it overnight, so I think it was on my doorstep within 4 days of me having shipped it.

I've had very few returns I've had to send them considering the amount I buy... I've never had any problems with any of the replacements.

As far as the games and whatnot, are you sure you didn't order an OEM card?

Video cards typically don't come with any cables. Maybe a DVI-I -> SVGA adapter and a composite/s-video connector, but typically that's it. If it's OEM, it's not uncommon to even leave out the adapters.

last few times i have had any type of RMA new egg has been very good.

if i had ordered a new MB-- after the RMA i would get a new MB retail for exchange.

if i had a referb MB i would get the same type unit again or a refund . the last few times i had a refund they even re-funded the shipping .

most OEM are bare bones esp referbs --however on ocassion i would get a full retail kit with a referb . i never buy anything referb thinking to get everything in the retail version because the box has usually been opened more than once--even if the product was never installed.

give new egg a call on the phone -- i'm sure they will get the problems straightned out.

Yeah, remember it's the supervisor at Newegg who cares about the company's reputation...not the guy making $5.50 an hour to pop bubblewrap and laugh when he does it. (Come on.. we've all done that :D ). Give them a call.

 For a refurb. The whole thing sound like a lie. Should have gotten DFI ultra new and modified to SLI.

I've had good luck with exchanges for working parts from newegg. I had a bad WD raptor that died 4 months after I bought it from them and they replaced it flat out.

The only problem I have with newegg is their review policy. Basically with very rare exceptions they don't let negative reviews through at all. If it's not a 5 star review, they almost never post it which in my opinion is unfortunate. I don't trust their product reviews, I go elsewhere for that.

1. I have called and demanded to talk to a manager, they tell me that one is not avail, and the service manager that I communicate with via email will not answer his phone or return calls
2. true it was after 30 days, but the RMA says 60 days
3. My video card was RETAIL, and I was missing dvi/vga adap, HDTV cable, and software and games.
4. When I sent the original mobo back I had to send the cable, books, ect. so how am I suppose to hook up the oem board with no cables, guide, or sli bridge? when I originally paid for all this when I bought my new board.

I have ordered over 4000.00$ of merchandise from newegg in the past, and never had 1 prob. but when I had to return my 1st product, all went to hell, and yes they have promised me the world on the phone and via email, but I have yet to get any response and im going on week 4.

Its called being sarcastic, I paid 200.00 for a NEW mobo, and got a refurb for RMA

well i don't care for their review policy either . but on the other hand what would you do about jokers getting on there and slamming stuff they don't even own ??

i take ALL reviews with a grain of salt .

i see reviews of how terrible a motherboard is -- later i end up building one and most of the time it is not near as bad as the review claimed. and the reverse is also true-- you hear how wonderful and great a certain make of hardware is --you get one and find it is only 3% better --not the 300% it was hyped up to be--lol

motherboards and such are semi-flakey at best anyways . if you look around the fourms you'll se no doute all kinds of weird problems with the very same MB your running--regardless of brand--

anyways--LOL-- yea $200 sounds a bit steep for a referb from the egg . you hardly ever see any referbs there for over $100

jsf, we'll just have to disagree on the value of other user's experience with certain parts. I tend to believe that random people don't just out of the blue go to newegg.com to write a negative review for something they've never used or seen. Apparently you think they would. That's ok, we disagree.

anyway, as for the first guy. If that really is the experience you are having and their policy states 60 days RMA. Then sue. Seriously, if that's your last option, then do it. Small claims court isn't that hard to navigate and you'll at least get your money back with costs.

i'm sure there are some people that have had some bad results --and they should have the option to post there .

however -- kids like to paint on the sidewalk ?

how many people on this very fourm --lean twards ---my DFI is great ASUS sucks ? MSI sucks but ASUS is # 1 !

i wouldn't exactly call those statements a review .i would hazzard that the "egg" would shy away from such remarks because it could hurt sales .

i have seen many post like that in the cpu section esp (at the egg)-- stuff like THIS cpu SUCKS buy an A-64 ! and so on .AMD it a little boys cpu--for playing kiddie games ! be a real man buy a real cpu--go intel !! that kind of thing--

if it wasn't edited you would have 10,000 reviews like that for each item--lol
heck i know a guy that got an a8n-sli like mine--had all kinds of problems with it , wouldn't overclock, had the re-boot problem and so on-got a RMA --new MB-- not long the same problems kept popping up-- guy comes in my shop and wants me to swap the whole thing out for an intel set-up in his mind AMD stuff is just junk-- well i got the MB checked it out--

running a very old bios with known issues . the PSU unit was a 650w but a chepo that only had 11.6v on the 12v rail. and his ram settings were way off . well even after fixing the problen--the guy didn't want it back--had me pull all that stuff out and replace it with intel cpu-mb . at i might add much extra expense to him .now i don't know--but i don't think there was anything wrong with the MB's he RMA'ed . anyways his thing was so set that it wasn't any good-- that i don't see how you could change that guys mind . now i wonder what kind of review he would write--lol
