Ive got a gtx 670 that needs upgrading in my opinion theres nothing wrong with it at all. I was wondering what might be faster, better more ram overall for my gaming needs.
Im running a i5 4670k stock with 16 gigs of ram ssd 1150 socket mobo gigabyte tons of other hdd;s for storage, 24 inch monitor
Looking at 700 nvidia's and amd r9 280x and possibly 290 which id love to have but prices are way to high

I would just stick with your 670 right now. It's still a great card. If you really want to upgrade, you won't notice much of a difference unless you jump to a EVGA GTX 780 Classified or something.

I can't think of anything a 670 can't run at 1080p - more VRAM doesn't give you more performance, more VRAM gives you higher IQ at surround resolutions such as 5760*1080p, or 4k resolution. That of course isn't applicable at 1080p - more VRAM for you would not give you more performance, all other things being equal (eg 670 2GB vs 6704GB).

I would agree with other posters to wait. Now isn't the best time to upgrade, IMO, especially since the 670 is very fast at 1080p.

If you want to upgrade get a GTX 780 and overclock it. Even at 1080p I cannot max out every game and run MSAA with my overclocked 780, but I did notice a big difference coming from a 7950 @ 7970 speed

Stick with your 670 until a new family is released. If it were a few months ago...then yes grab a 700, but wait to see if nvidia pulls something out there ass. That is if you can wait. Otherwise, like another said, get a 780 classified.

Speaking of... I have one w/ samsung memory ;)

Oh, they have a rebate ATM as well as the free games. After MIR it is 539.99 I believe.

The other one I have, I nabbed from newegg in November and has Hynix memory.

Both memories are on par as far as overclocking. I have seen some classifieds with elpida memory which does not clock as well as the two others.
