I have
Athlon64 2800+
2x512 PC3200
ATi 9600XT
MSI K8T Neo
Turtle Beach Santa Cruz Sound Card

I'm wanting a SFF to sit on my desk next to the flat panel I will be getting. What all do I need with my current set up?

edit: I'm also wanting the cheapest thing that will support my stuff. Thanks

It comes with a case, motherboard and powersupply. Price those out and you'll get somewhere close to that price. You do have to keep in mind that shuttles are popular right now, so the case would have a premium over your cheap $30 case.

My case was 110$ shipped from new egg.
My wording was bad  Check the edit reason under my post. I meant 'your' as in a general cheap case, not yours specifically. Since yours was $110 though, that helps with my "you're getting 3 things" argument. Sorry about the confusion.

I'm just wanting to know what good ssf case I could get that is or looks like a shuttle that will work with whta I have. sorry for any confusion.

The Micro ATX board supplies are very few and small due to the very small market and demand, not many manufacturers are making them.

The only shuttle model that will work with your existing hardware is the new SN95g5 but your gonna be paying a hefty $375 price due to it just coming out in the market. No reviews yet, so I cannot comment on its speed or relibility

Can you tell me why that is the only one that will work with my current parts?

Also that is for the new Athlon 64's. I don't have that socket type.

Recommend me one I can use. thanks

Actually that one won't be compatable with your processor. If its an A64 2800+, then its a socket 754. This has a socket 939 motherboard.

From what I can tell, their are no other fans you can add to that case, just the PSU fan cools the system. Youll have to mod it to add more fans.

hmmm. I don't know how to mod so that will be a problem. Are there any other brands like that that allow you to put in your own motherboard?

With only being able to put 1 fan in there, how could his Athlon64, 9600XT, and hard drive stay cool? Someone please tell me if it will keep it cool without mods because I also want to get one of these.

Honestly, I think the Aria is one of Antec worst designed cases. The only air circulation is provided by the 120mm fan from the PSU in the back and the airvents, and thats it. Honestly, shuttles have more airflow then that thing does.

You can add fans easy enough, you just have to cut EXACTLY the hole diamater as well as the four mounting holes using a jigsaw, dreml or hole saw. Doing it impatiently or incorrectly will result in holes in your case that won't hold a fan up or will but looking like shit. Trust me, it really sucks when you screwing on case metal, aint no going back.

If I bought it and sent it to you, could you mod it for me? How much would you charge?

I really like that case because it is cheap. Are there any others like that but with a better cooling setup?

Better yet, just get a smaller ATX tower, as they will hold a micro ATX board. That way, you have TONS of options of what you could get. Do a search on cases on newegg, guarentee you'll find something you'll like.

Really? And what do you base your info from? Screenshots and web reviews? I for one like the Aria. I've built three boxes using this Antec case. The Shuttle boxes only come with one fan, would look like $h1t if you mess up the hole cut. So your statement is a bit incorrect for the SFF forums as most only allow for a single fan solution until you modify the case.

Web reviews, screenshots and seeing one up close at my Best Buy. Sorry, but thats just my God given right opinion, didn't ask for you to like it. I"ve come to expect more from Antec and this case don't have it, sorry.

Nice. No, I simply asked a question. Figures that you based your opinion not from using one but from what others thought of it and what you saw at best buy. heh, whatever

So will the Aria be sufficient cooling for my setup MrE?
For what you plan on sticking in it would be fine. I did mod mine with an 80mm SilenX fan on the graphics side of the case. Temps hover at 48c where as the SN85G4v1 I replaced in favor of the Aria hovered at 54c using a push/pull fan configuration.

Is it had to just add a side fan? I have the fan/grill i want to use. I'm just wondering how to cut the whole nice and neat.

I purchased a 3" hole saw from Home Depot and measured for clearance before making any cuts. It helps to use a fan grill for the outline when setting up where to mark the holes for the fan screws and marking your center point (if you are using a standard fan guard) as to where the hole lines up. Then using a dremel grinder attachement after the cut, smooth out the edges. If you take your time it comes out clean and looks very nice.

If you wet saw it carefully then grind down the edges (or even sand them really lightly with some 1000 grit) odds are it will look very nice. Even if you mess the paint up you can always touch it up. If I was putting a fan in there I would definitely go with either the 80mm or (preferably) 120mm silenx fans (14db). I think the 120's are out of stock till sept 25th though.

The way I see it the hole doesnt need to look all that great. All I think I need to do is allign the 4 screws for the fan up to fit good. Then with the green UV fan and a nice grill, I don't think you would notice the hole all that much.

Just make sure that when measuring to take in account for the motherboard case connectors ie the Power LED, Power Switch, HDD switch as they tend to be toward the edge of the board. Also, many m-ATX motherboards place the SATA ports along the front edge of the board. Make sure to measure for clearance of these connectors as the fan will take at least a 2 1/2" depth at 80mm from the inside of the hole cut.

Sorry if its confusing, but a trick I learned is to use some soft double sided tape and tape the fan to the inside before cutting my hole to make sure that when placing the side panel back on the fan doesn't butt up against anything.
