I have creative 5.1 suck speakers (not sure the model but they suck the sub is 3 inches) im looking for new speakers. can i get some ideas on good quality speakers

what do you use your speakers for? ....how much are you going to be spending?.... is size a consideration?...are you a bass head?....what sort of music do you listen to?........how loud?.......etc....

in short we need more info...

most importantly BUDGET!!! oh yeah and 2.0? 2.1? 4.1? 5.1? 6.1? 7.1?

Budget speakers are not always bad. I recently purchased some Z640 for about $46 shipped and I loved them. The quality is beyond my needs. I was thinking to myself when blasting these speakers "I wonder what the high end speakers sounds like if cheap sets is this good"

i can spend about 150 i want something either 5.1 6.1 or 7.1 i use them for music (rock, metal, rap) i use them for gaming (not lans) size doesnt matter to me just dont want really small i am a bass head

not in my room. one more speakers makes the biggest difference because of the way my room is setup.

Physicly the rear center is useless, as the human ear is not very well developed for hearing things directly behind. 5.1 will acutally work better because they will create a much louder and prominent "ghost" speaker.

my room is an L shaped. my doors are in the corner and then theres a space then the actual room. what i do is put a speaker up in the corner by the doors then one 5 feet away from that then the other on the other corner. i have had 5.1 and it doesnt sound as good as with 6.1

well there is a differene between 5.1 and 6.1/7.1. its just that 6.1 isn't as noticeable, 7.1 is a much more noticeable differnce from 5.1 than 6.1 is

But are they practical?

How many things do you know of that are encoded in 6.1? 7.1? Otherwise everything is upmixed :)()
