Wanting a new Socket 775 HSF

To get it outta the way, my price max is $40 bucks, it doesn't have to be universal or work on anything other than 775, cause my build right now with 775 will not be parted out. When i do build a i7 I'll just buy a new H-S-F for the i7 build. Right now my e5200 is OC'ed to 3.3ghz but i plan on tweaking it and experimenting and getting it to go higher. So im definitely looking for a high end OC ready HSF. To give a idea though of what im aiming for, im not aiming for anything. W/e HSF i get, il push my OC to the limit, then pull back. Once pulled back to where is stable, il be happy there. That could be 3.5ghz, that could be 3.75ghz, that could be 4.0ghz...any of those id be happy with. Why im thinking just a 40$ HSF instead of a HIGH end 70-100$ is definitely because once i build my i7 (in a year) i will experiment and get water-cooling for my 775.

So far i have been recommended the Cool master Hyper 212 Plus, but then was told that one isn't GREAT, its good. Also recommended Noctua NH-D14 CPU Cooler but thats to expensive, Scythe MUGEN-2 Rev. B which is $40, and Thermolab BARAM Heatsink but that i cant find online anywhere. Any recommendations would be awesome.

What heatsink are you using now?

An e5300 based system I built for my brother in law is running at 3.7Ghz .... with an old Thermaltake "Silent Tower" heatsink that I bought back when I was running Socket-A stuff.

Just do a research for it. It's topping damn near every reviews and comes very close to the performance of Megahalem or TRUE but without their prices. So I'd say it's an understatement to call it "pretty good".

Yeah im definitely strongly considering the Cooler-Master Hyper 212 Plus. From a review on Newegg, i will also get 2 http://www.coolermaster-usa.com/product.php?product_id=2913 fans, considering it can only get better with 2 fans, and red LED cause i have the 932 HAF, so i already have a red LED front fan on my case.
Can you have the 2 fans attached to the heat-sink face w/e direction you want? I definitely want the 2 fans to point towards the back of my case (which would aim them perfectly out of my exhaust fan).
 
Yes, you can. I don't know about whatever direction, but you can change the fan position to blow in or out from right to left. I'm not too sure if it's possible to change the HSF position to blow upward instead of sideways, but should be possible.

Oh well i wasnt going that far haha. I just wanted to make sure they were blowing towards my exhaust fan so the cold air would blow over the heat-sink then exit the tower. Planning on using the fan that comes with to put on the bottom of my HAF 932 , but im unsure of 2 things. Is the bottom space 120x120 , and does my GPU fan blow out or suck air in? (i would think suck air in but not 100% sure) Cause if it sucks air in, then a fan on the bottom would blow cold air into the case straight into the GPU fan..which is good.

EDIT: hmm, just read that fans with bearings wear out faster when horizontal. That sucks.
 
I'm not sure what you mean. Are you referring to the HDD cage bay where you mount the 120MM fans?

If so, then yes, it is 120MM. Your GTS 250 fan blows air outside of the case, so having a 120MM fan near the HDD cage that blows fresh air to the GPU is good.

Im talking about the bottom of the case, one of the vents is covered by the PSU, the other is open and ready for a fan. So a fan in that spot, would suck cold air from outside, blow it inside the case, right towards the GPU fan, which is sucking air inside the GPU and pushing it out the back of its small slitted exhaust vents which are where the DVI connectors are, right?
