Well I have a great little machine but it can only do 1024 resolution max as its not graphic intense but the rest of the machine is high spec ; just in case you can flex on that spec due to inability to find that requirement ;

Compaq NX6110 , I bought it from newegg and here is the link :

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16834147103 :: I would go 450 or lower 400 not 300 though its like new only used a small bit.

sorry for the wasted post if your not willing to flex on the resolution part.

Still looking.

P4 or better and a screen that will do 1280 x 1024
You'll be extremely hard pressed to find all that for the price you want my friend/

exactly what i was thinking. check out overstock.com but your price range is too strict for a p4 and that res...

for 500$ i was only able to get a p4 2.2 with 256 ram and XGA screen (it is an IBM though)
every time i try to go for less $ it was from ppl to off turds on me and not tell me of the defects that usually ends it in the trash.
you might consider doing the elder dells since they have one older line that the P3 are SXGA but you can pop that screen on a P4 up in the line with a broaken screen. Done right you can probably pick up a laptop for about 400$

best of luck 2 you though

Mine was linked above, and it fits the requirements. $270, which is under $300. 1440x1050 is above 1280. 15" is non-widescreen. Decently fast. P4 or better is a prefered thing. A fresh battery would put it at your price limit and youd have a very workable machine. PM if interested.
