Want Your Package? Shovel Your Damn Walkway!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W1qUd9na_PQ UPS Driver explaining his actions to his supervisor while customer at home. December, 2010.

Did you even watch these?

The first one I can hardly blame the guy. It looked like a maze of junk he had to go through just to see the damn door, god knows what else was down by his feet off camera.

The second one is pretty standard, avoid leaving packages in the open on a porch. Google package stolen from porch. The driver was doing the asshole a favor, if the snow was not melting it will do no damage and he was helping it not get stolen. Its not a matter of him being lazy, if you look it probably took more effort to tuck it back there than just set it on the porch...

The guy in the article in the OP should have just not delivered the package for sure but some of you whiny shits are why the job is so fucking terrible to begin with. thousands of good drivers out there trying to earn a fucking pension and you guys treat them all like these 1% douchebags that chuck packages and shit.

People bitch because the package was not upright even though there was NO INDICATION which way was up, people bitch if its at the edge of the porch instead of right up at the door and vice versa, they bitch if its late in the middle of a week long blizzard, they bitch if you dont wait 10 minutes after ringing the doorbell for their geriatric asses to climb down 2 flights of stairs, Its your fault if it gets stolen, they bitch if you wont deliver the package through a fenced yard with 4 barking pit bulls, they even bitch if its early!

So yeah you will have to excuse the few bad apples because no sane person will do the fucking job and stay sane for long. And seriously the whole "they are thanked with a paycheck" is bullshit, everyones thanked with a paycheck for doing a job that dont mean they need to take a bunch of bullshit from snobby whiners.

@Disposed: yes, and what is a job of a delivery guy ? To deliver. Not throw packages, not leave packages in front of door. By the way, i'm surprised it works this way in USA (leaving packages anywhere, throwing etc etc).

Here in Slovakia, any major delivery service (UPS, DHL, TNT, whatever) REQUIRES you to sign that you got the package unharmed, you must prove yourself with your ID card. Even the standard post service (equal to USPS) does not leave packages anywhere, either gives it to you if they delivered it or you get a note to move your ass to your post office, where you can get your package - again when proved your identity with your ID card and signature.

So even your delivery men make you show your papers? Sounds oddly familiar...

Being in the house its addressed to should be enough unless its certified.
