Want to run two monitors!

Im a newb when it comes to video cards and displays and all that. I never really got much into it, but now Im starting to think i might want to try. Right now my computer he is hooked up to a 55" LCD HDTV and I work from that and use it to watch movies. However when Im watching movies my computer is down because its on the screen and I will have to wait till the movie is over to get anything done. So what Im wanting to do is run a regular smaller display to work on while Im running the 55" with a movie on it. What all do I have to have as far as hardware to do that? Sorry if this is a newb question but like I said I never really got into video cards, etc..

It is reasonably likely that you can do that right now. What is your current system setup look like? And what cable are you using to plug into the TV? HDMI?

Basically, any half-decent video card and many truly awful ones will happily run 2 screens, one for work and one for movies.

XFX HD-677X-ZNFC Radeon HD 6770 1GB 128-bit GDDR5 Video Card
