how do i trick the computer to think its like 8gb? ive done it once but cant figure it out again

im trying to use cmd and diskpart, but I think because its a larger USB it wont format to fat32. I need to somehow tell diskpart to format it to like 10gb or 8gb

i figured it out. You need to use disk part cmd: create partition primary size=8000. solves my issue. Thanks.

FOR NOTHING

I didn't have that problem with a 16gb stick. It did take me forever, however, to funds out how to properly copy over the files.

Your problem is not very common one as most others do their best not to plug usb into a windows box in general :)

Easier method with no muss/fuss: use Rufus or the Windows 7 USB tool. No command line jockeying. Rufus is a lot faster than the tool from Microsoft, esp. on a USB 2.0 thumbdrive. Also supports UEFI/GPT.
