One day while watching cartoons, it came to my mind that how these animations are designed. I’m curious to know in-depth how it’s all done. How can I move further to have knowledge about it? Please suggest…..

yup, read :)

you might want to try making one in photoshop or flash too. Look for tutorials online

Is online tutorial enough to have deep knowledge about this field or to pursue a professional degree would be a better option?

if it's something you want to do as job, an online tutorial is not going to be enough.

I'm currently taking a course in college call "History of Animation" it's goes way back in history. Today animators have it made with computers and a system already setup. I'm taking Flash and Storyboarding right now, in the future I might be taking game design.

Are you looking for an online degree or you want to go for regular course? Online degree programs are gaining significance these days as it gives enormous opportunities like time flexibility, reducing overhead costs and many more.

The problem I found when looking into online courses was most seems to be shady or worthless. Any recommendations on reputable institutions offering online programs?

I have a very busy schedule and not able to spare time for regular course. So, I am looking preferably for online course from well reputed and accredited university.

You can check out http://www.thedegreeexperts.com where they have provided the list of almost all online courses available along with the universities providing them. Moreover universities referred here are accredited ones and have good reputation in the market.

Thanks for providing such a beneficial link which helped me a lot to clarify almost all my doubts about online education.

I also visited the link referred by garycarl and found it quite helpful for online degree seekers.

Hmm... garycarl... jacksonbrown... nelsonbaker... thomsponparker. All newer accounts, all similar grammar, all names seemingly following a pattern.

Yeah; my spidey senses are tingling, too. But it's a moderated forum, and I'm sure they'll take care of it. Maybe.
